UofL 2008 IEEE SoutheastCon Robot Team
Five ECE students on the IEEE Robot Team competed April 12th in the IEEE SoutheastCon conference at the University of Alabama at Huntsville. There were 40 engineering schools registered for the competition and UofL came in an impressive 4th place. The top 8 schools moved from the qualifying round into the single elimination playoffs. Other schools from Kentucky that competed were WKU (20th) and UK (36th). Please congratulate these members for their big final four showing when you see them. IEEE Student Enterprise Award The IEEE Student Branch was notified that it will recieve a Student Enterprise Award from the national IEEE. Funds from the award will be used to develop this years E-Expo project for high school and middle school students. IEEE student chapter officers for 2008-09 Please welcome the new IEEE student chapter officers for 2008-09. They are: Nick Blumenthal (Chair), Ahmed Farag (Vice Chair), Jenny Lea (Secretary), Ryan Mihaljevic (Treasurer), Charlie Waters (Technology Chair), Brad Luyster (Activities Chair), and James Willet (Representative).
